February Events

This is the time of year when we love living in Arizona. The weather is great and the outdoor activities are aplenty. Check through our long list for something fun to get you and your family or friends out enjoying Arizona together. 


First, there is a great Groupon right now for 1/2 off admission to the My Nana's Salsa Challenge. This event involves over 70 booths of homemade salsa, and for one price you can get in and have all-you-can eat chips and salsa. It is pretty much our dream come true and one festival we never miss. Event is March 7th - 8th, but snag a Groupon while you can!

Street Eats Food Truck Festival (Scottsdale)
Saturday, February 7th - Sunday, February 8th from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM at Salt River Fields (Indian Bend & the 101). 50+ food trucks, cooking demos, kids' zone, and live bands throughout the day. Tickets are $12 for adults and FREE for children 12 and under and tickets for purchasing food and drinks are $2 each. 

First Friday at the Heard Museum (Phoenix)
In addition to all the other First Friday festivities in Phoenix (that's a mouthful!) there is a special event at the Heard. Friday evening will be start off a weekend celebration culminating in the 25th annual World Championship Hoop Dance Contest on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 7-8. Festivities on Friday, Feb. 6, will include a worldly drum gathering featuring diverse cultures. Friday activities are free, hoop dance contest costs $18 for adults, $7.50 for children.

First Saturday for Families at the ASU Art Museum (Tempe)
Saturday, February 7th from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM at 51 East 10th St in Tempe.  This free program takes place on the first Saturday of every month and invites children ages 4-12 and their families to make a creative project in conjunction with exhibitions. No registration required. All materials are provided and families can take home their artwork.

TASTE in Tempe
Sunday, February 8th from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the Tempe Center for the Arts. TASTE in Tempe is a daytime food and wine festival with food tasting opportunities from top local chefs and Valley restaurants, cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs, wine seminars, live music and entertainment. You'll also find Valentines-themed local vendors such as florists, jewelers, chocolatiers, and pastry chefs. Tickets are $59 each, but they just released a few on Groupon for a discount.  

Schnepf Farms Peach Blossom Festival (Queen Creek)
Thursday to Sunday, February 5th - 28th from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM at 24810 South Rittenhouse Road, Queen Creek. Enjoy the beautiful peach orchards covered in pink blossoms.  Admission is free.  Train rides through the orchard are $2, hay rides are $5, or you can do the self-guided walking tour for free.  There will also be a petting zoo and a country store to visit, not to mention the organic U-pick farm which is full of fresh veggies at $1.50/lb each.  Perfect for a fun family outing or a date with your Valentine.  

Arizona Renaissance Festival (Gold Canyon)
This year's festival runs February 7th - March 29th. Make sure to check out Alicia's Deals for information on how you can get two free tickets.

Phoenix Chinese Week
Friday, February 13th - Sunday, February 15th at Margaret T. Hance Park (East),  1202 N. 3rd Street, Phoenix. Kick off the celebration of the Year of the Ram at Phoenix Chinese week. The festival includes a kids' pavilion, dragon boat display, food, displays about Chinese culture and history, dance and other cultural entertainment, and more. 

2nd Friday Night Out: Sweethearts on Main (Mesa)
Friday, February 13th from 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM on Main from Center to Country Club. Free Swing Dance lessons, valentine making for kids, live bands, art gallery openings, free movie, food, and entertainment. 

Fee-Free Weekend at National Parks
Get in free to Grand Canyon National Park and more on President's Day weekend, February 14th - 16th.


Comedy Night Fundraiser Gala (Phoenix)
Sunday, February 15th from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the House of Comedy at City North
The MOMs Club of Norterra is hosting a Valentine's event to benefit Camp Soaring Eagle, an Arizona based organization that sends seriously ill children to a medically supervised camp at no cost.  at the House of Comedy at City North, Phoenix, AZ. To purchase tickets go here.




Fountain Hills Great Fair
Friday, February 20th - Sunday, February 22nd from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Avenue of the Fountains in Fountain Hills. This huge event features over 500 artists and artisans from across the United States. Food, beer garden, and live music. Free admission and free parking. 

A Day at the Diamond reopening celebration at Hohokam Stadium (Mesa). Saturday, February 21st from 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM at 1235 N. Center St. The free celebration gives you the opportunity to tour the Oakland A’s newly renovated stadium 1235 N. Center St., and watch team pitchers and catchers participate in their first official spring training workout at noon. Also, there will be a sports card show, live music, beer garden, food and a kid’s zone with inflatables and games. Hot air balloon rides and a zip line are available as well for a small donation that will go towards renovations at Guerrero Park. 

Arizona Matsuri: The 31st Annual Festival of Japan (Downtown Phoenix)
Saturday, February 21st - Sunday, February 22nd from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM at Heritage and Science Park.  You'll find exhibits, demonstrations, arts and crafts, children's activities, bonsai displays, Japanese food, games and contests, and live entertainment. Free admission though you'll need to pay to park in downtown Phoenix. 
LEGO® KidsFest (Glendale)
February 27th - March 1 at University of Phoenix Stadium. Check out the East Valley Moms Blog for more information and a link to enter a drawing for free tickets. 

Chandler Car Show
Saturday, February 28th from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM in downtown Chandler.
This free family event includes over 240 registered classic cars and hot rods, a food court, local bands, beer garden, and a marketplace. 

Other events: 
Winterfest Flagstaff continues through this Saturday, February 7th.
Gear up for Spring Training. You can watch each team's first workout, dates start on February 19th. Spring training games begin on March 1st.

Arizona Musicfest 
This festival goes through all of February and until March 5th and includes numerous concerts and musical events in different locations in Phoenix and Scottsdale.
