November Events

Can you believe it's November already? November is the time of year that we remember why we live in Arizona, isn't it? Beautiful breezes with the perfect temperatures--we've missed you.


Here is your list of events in Arizona this month--some of these are listed in our fall guide and others are not. For some other ideas, make sure to check out our Fall Guide to Arizona. We hope you get out there and do something fun!

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7 - SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 9
Chandler Chuck Wagon Cook-Off. Tumbleweed Park, 2250 S. McQueen Road in Chandler. Experience some Western history at this free family-friendly event. Authentic 1880s chuck wagons compete to make the best meals which are available for purchase. Campfire Glow, live music, Western history and cooking demonstrations.

Mesa Old Westfest In downtown Mesa. From 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  Watch Mesa showcase its rich pioneer and territorial heritage. Gunfight reinactment, cowboy crafts, kiddie rides, music, food, and more. 

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 8 - SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 16
Scottsdale Fall for the Arts. Features 12 individual events and includes interactive art displays, artist demonstrations, live music, and more. 
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2014
****Certified Local Festival. From 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM at 10 W Portland Street, Phoenix.  This is a free family-friendly event celebrating all things local to Arizona.  Obviously we love supporting local and what a better way to get to know local businesses than to check out this festival!  100+ vendors and live local entertainment.  

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 8
Zombie Run Wild. Horse Pass Motorsports Park, Chandler. Register as a human or as a zombie (complete with makeover). Zombies chase humans through the course--which role do you want to play? 

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11
****Fee-Free Day at National Parks. Celebrate Veteran’s Day by visiting one of Arizona’s 26 National Parks for free. 

Veteran’s Day Parades -
Saturday, November 8
East Valley Veteran’s Day Parade. Begins at 11:00 AM in downtown Mesa. 

Tuesday, November 11
Tempe Veteran’s Day Parade. Begins at 10:00 AM near Tempe Town Lake. 

Tuesday, November 11
Phoenix Veteran’s Day Parade. Begins at 11:00 AM at Central and Bethany Home in Phoenix. 

Saturday, November 22
****Gilbert Days. There are several events going on throughout the day to celebrate the heritage of the town of Gilbert. The parade Begins at 9:00 AM along Gilbert Road in downtown Gilbert. Gilbert ½ marathon and 10K begin at 7:00 AM and family fun-run and 5K begin at 4:30 PM. Other events include a rodeo and festival. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 27
****Fountain Hills Thanksgiving Day Parade. From 9:00 - 11:00 in downtown Fountain Hills. A few dozen floats, marching bands, dance routines, motorcycle shows, and Santa. 

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 29
****Phoenix Flea. This is not your mom’s flea market. It is a cool market for discovering great local businesses, vintage art & crafts, fashion, food & more. Personally, we are looking forward to doing a lot of our Christmas shopping there--supporting local businesses and getting some great stuff! Heritage Square in downtown Phoenix
