Every week we will post some upcoming events around AZ. Check back each Wednesday so you don't miss out. Here are some things to help you plan your summer:



This week:  

Free Family Swim

Free swim every Friday from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Folley Pool in Chandler.

Chandler Chill-Out

May 31 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Free event with water slides, games, food, and fun for the whole family. Located at 3 S. Arizona Ave in Chandler.

Prescott's 150th Birthday Celebration

Friday, May 30 - Sunday June 1. The sesquicentennial of Prescott will include a Western village with re-enactments such as shootouts, attractions and entertainment. There will also be lots of educational and interactive exhibits from local museums and other organizations.

Arizona Storytellers Night 

June 5 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. This is a monthly event hosted by the Arizona Republic. $10 ticket (must be purchased ahead of time) includes appetizers. 

Phoenix Comicon

June 5-8 Phoenix Convention Center. This event is downright ginormous. Tons to do including a Minecraft block party, zombie brain-eating contest, lego build-off, Geek Prom, a car show, cosplay fashion show and much, much more. Buy tickets here (prices go up the day of the event.) Children 12 and under are free.

Target Free First Friday at The Children's Museum of Phoenix
June 6 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM.  Free admission into the museum.  We did attend once a few years ago and the line to get in was long, but we did enjoy not having to pay!


Plan a Road Trip:

Enjoy cooler weather just an hour north of Mesa in Payson,  Arizona.  Every Saturday night in June and July enjoy a free outdoor concert at Payson's Green Valley Park located at 1000 W. Country Club Dr.  Concerts start at 7:00 PM.  Click here for a list of bands.  


Payson's Mountain High Games
June 6-8.  Monster Trucks, Mogollon 5K Mudder, ATV Trail Rides, Horse Shoe Tournament, 3D Archery Tournament.  Check website for entry rules and specific times of races.    

While in Payson, make sure to travel a bit farther north because...

June 7-8 is the 24th Annual Strawberry Festival in Pine Arts and craft vendors, strawberry treats, live music and children's activities.  Make sure to come home with a flat of strawberries.  Check website for location and specific time.

Show Low Days 

June 6-8 in the White Mountains.  Enjoy arts and craft vendors, Derby Car Race down the Deuce of Clubs Highway, Car show, kids' zone, western shoot-out, stick horse rodeo, pancake breakfast, live entertainment and much more.  $1 Admission, kids 10 and under are free.  Click here for complete schedule. 

Flagstaff Hullaballoo 
June 7-8. This fun community festival has a circus theme. Just $5 general admission gets you in to the festival. There will be a kids' area, bike parade, circus performers, a costume contest and more.

Full Moon Hike

June 13 starting at 8:00 PM. 2-mile guided hike at Usery Park on the east side of the Valley.  Admission into the park is $6 per car.
