Watch a Roller Derby Bout
Roller derby is one of the hottest trends in women's sports with teams all throughout the country and state. Games are quite inexpensive too. Check out schedules for two leagues in Phoenix, and others in MesaTucson, and Prescott. If you've never been to a roller derby bout, you may want to watch an introduction video like this one before you go so you are somewhat acquainted with the rules. You can even snag a deal on roller derby tickets here.

Take a Treasure Hunt with Real London Bus Company
"Like the Amazing Race, only more amazing 'er." Compete against other teams in this fun activity with puzzles, games, and prizes. The event is family-friendly so you might even choose to do this as a date with your favorite little kiddo. This company hosts other types of activities as well, such as Christmas light tours, pub crawls, etc.

Bowling at Lucky Strike
Maybe you've dismissed bowling as a date night, and if so you need to check out Lucky Strike. This is a more upscale bowling spot in downtown Phoenix that is geared towards adults. In fact, there is a dress code at Lucky Strike that is enforced after 9:00 PM.

Look for events, lectures, and shows at a college campus. Check out the calendar at ASU or a community college in the area.

Go on a mini road trip. Pick a city as close or as far to you as you'd like to drive and explore it like a tourist.

Laugh with Improv Comedy
These places have popped up all over the Valley. We love Jester'z (in Mesa) but there are others that look fun to try as well. Just do a search for improv comedy in your city and see what shows up. Or, check out this deal at Living Social.

Take a Cooking Class Together
There are several companies that offer cooking classes. Sign up as a couple to make this a fun date. Find a class at Scottsdale's Le Cordon Bleu, or check out Groupon for a deal like this one.

Paint!
Working on art together is another popular option with locations popping up all over the Valley. Art of Merlot, Brush Party, and Posh Paint are just a few options.
